Sonja Marquis, Acting Director

Sonja is a professional actor, director and sound designer from Brighton. She has worked with numerous theaters throughout southeastern Michigan, including Williamston Theatre, The Dio, Tipping Point Theatre, Flint Repertory Theatre, Detroit Public Theatre, Purple Rose Theatre Company, The JET, Performance Network, Matrix Theatre Company, Wild Swan, Theatre Nova, Encore Musical Theatre Company and Detroit’s Music Hall. Sonja is honored to have received several awards and nominations for her work, including a Wilde Award win for her portrayal of Betty in The Dio’s The Great American Trailer Park Musical and Wilde Award nominations for Best Supporting Actress (Suzette, Tipping Point Theatre’s Don’t Dress for Dinner) and Best Play for Young Audiences (Director, Wild Swan’s Charlotte’s Web). Since 2015, she has been the director for Plymouth Uptown Players (PUPs), a youth theater organization run by Plymouth Community Arts Council in cooperation with Tipping Point Theatre. In addition, she teaches theater arts summer camps to young artists of all ages, has been a mentor with Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit, and raised three amazing humans with her husband Mike.

Kristine Stuenkel, Producer & Costume Designer

Kristine has been with the musical and drama programs at BHS since 2012 focusing primarily on costume, hair and makeup design. She has nearly 20 years experience and has designed costumes for over 45 productions in Livingston County including Beauty and the Beast, Nice Work if You Can Get It, Grease, White Christmas, Honeymoon in Vegas, Pippin, Newsies, Cinderella, Wizard of Oz, Little Mermaid, Hunchback of Notre Dame and Oklahoma.
